Goal
Turn an intimidating self-improvement ritual into a five-minute daily habit that people actually keep, without gamification gimmicks that cheapen the work.
My role
I designed the product from first principles with the founding team, from the reflection model and habit loop through visual identity and the full mobile app.
What I learned
Habit products live or die on the empty state.
The first seven days were redesigned four times. Everything that mattered for retention happened before users had any data to look at.
Restraint is a feature.
Every gamification mechanic we removed made the product feel more trustworthy. The calm interface became the differentiator.
